SOCIAL BEHAVIOR COACH
A social behavior coach helps school staff, including teachers and administrators, understand emotional behaviors of school age students and how to implement strategies in the classroom to support the teacher. The Social Behavior Coach has a background in education or psychology. In addition, they have a deep knowledge of the research behind social and emotional techniques and know which techniques work best with different types of students. A Behavior Coach can work with teachers to provide social behavior training, administrators to develop a school-wide PBIS program, and directly with students in the classroom.
- Working with a group of students throughout the school year to help them hone their social skills
- Adopting a PBIS implementation plan to support positive behavior
- Training and collaborating with teachers, school counselors, administrators, and other stakeholders on implementing the behavior program
- Supporting students and assessing their progress
- Reviewing and analyzing MTSS data to strategically support the teachers and students
Education: Bachelors in psychology or education. Teaching experience preferred.
