Migrant Recruiter  

 

The work of a Migrant Education Program (MEP) recruiter is varied and covers topics below as well as other duties that are related to the overall Migrant Education Program.  The recruiter schedule will be flexible during various farming seasons throughout the year in order to recruit and meet the needs of families in the program. All MEP staff will also attend trainings as required by the state. Being fluent in Spanish is a requirement of the position.

 

Identification & Recruitment (ID&R):

  • Create the ID&R plan and map and keep it updated at least twice a year.
  • Identify and recruit all eligible migrant children residing in the school district from 0 to 21 years of age.
  • Plan recruitment in advance to target concentrated migrant camps.
  • Share information regarding preschool programs
  • Partner with community agencies to increase recruiting efforts

 

Documentation:

  • Complete eligibility documents
  • Complete needs assessment documents
  • Complete screening documents
  • Complete annual reverification documents
  • Utilize various programs to track students enrolled in MEP
  • All other required Federal documentation as required

 

Provide assistance:

  • Be a liaison between home and school.
  • Share important community information on assistance programs
  • Share all school services/programs
  • Refer families for appropriate assistance and help make appointments as needed 

 

Migrant Education Programs:

  • Assist with the planning and implementation of Migrant Summer School
  • Assist with Migrant Parent Advisory Committee

 

 

Pay is based NC State Salary Schedule 63 and years of experience
